India has released the second installment of $2.5 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), completing its annual commitment of $5 million for 2023-24. The first tranche was given in November 2022. UNRWA provides direct relief and aid programs to registered Palestinian refugees and is almost entirely funded by voluntary UN member contributions. Delhi Police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have drawn parallels between the explosion near the Israel Embassy on Tuesday night and a similar IED blast at the same location in 2021.
