The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that the southwest monsoon has advanced into parts of Lakshadweep, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal, bringing heavy rainfall. Bengaluru and Hyderabad are expected to experience continued rain till June 6. Meanwhile, Delhi faces a heatwave with a yellow alert for potential thunderstorms and light rain. The heatwave also affects Punjab, Haryana, and parts of North and Central India. The IMD predicts above-normal monsoon rainfall for the core monsoon zone, with below-normal rainfall in the northeast.
