As of June 2, Hyderabad is only the capital of Telangana, ending its decade-long role as the shared capital with Andhra Pradesh. This change follows the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, which allowed Hyderabad to be the joint capital for 10 years after the state's split. Telangana's Chief Minister Revanth Reddy instructed officials to take over buildings previously used by Andhra Pradesh. Despite the separation, some issues like asset division remain unresolved. The Election Commission's rules prevented a recent cabinet meeting to discuss these matters.
