Delhi Records Nearly 50°C as Heatwave Grips North India

Amid a scorching heatwave sweeping across North India, several areas in Delhi witnessed extreme temperatures nearing 50 degrees Celsius. Mungeshpur and Narela recorded highs of 49.9°C, marking a significant departure of 9 degrees from the normal range. Rajasthan's Churu reported the highest temperature at 50.5°C, followed by Sirsa in Haryana at 50.3°C. Punjab's Bhatinda and Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi also experienced extreme heat, reaching 49.3°C and 49.0°C respectively. The heatwave, coupled with low humidity levels, intensified in most parts of the region, posing health risks and prompting authorities to issue advisories.
