Cyclone Remal to Make Landfall in Bengal, Warning Issued

A severe cyclone warning has been issued for Northeast India and coastal Bangladesh as Cyclone Remal is expected to make landfall in West Bengal on Sunday. The cyclone will bring extremely heavy rainfall and strong winds to West Bengal, coastal Bangladesh, Tripura, and other Northeastern states. Residents are urged to prepare for adverse weather conditions starting May 26. Tripura can expect severe rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning with wind speeds of 40-50 kmph and gusts up to 70 kmph. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal intensifying into a cyclone, prompting the warning.
