Indian Students Urge PM Sunak to Safeguard "Graduate Route" Visa Policy

Indian students in the UK have appealed to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to maintain the "Graduate Route" visa policy, following the Migration Advisory Committee's (MAC) recommendation for its continuation. The National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK (NISAU UK) emphasized the economic and cultural benefits of the policy, which allows international graduates to stay in the UK for up to two years (three for PhD holders) to gain work experience. The MAC report highlighted that Indian students represented 42% of Graduate Route visas issued between 2021 and 2023, underscoring the policy’s significance.
