Tiger Attacks and Kills Man in Raisen Forest Near Bhopal, Eats his Body Parts

A man was killed and partially consumed by a tiger in Raisen forest division near Bhopal, officials said Thursday. The incident occurred near Neemkheda village, 35 km from Bhopal. Divisional Forest Officer Vijay Kumar identified the victim as Maniram Jatav, 62, who was collecting tendu leaves. Canine marks on his neck and nearby pugmarks confirmed a tiger attack. This tiger likely strayed from Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary. It's the first such fatality in Raisen forest in recent history. Jatav's family received ₹8 lakh compensation. Forest officials are patrolling the area and warned villagers against entering the forest to locate the tiger.
