Eleven pilgrims have died in the first five days of the Char Dham yatra in Uttarakhand, which began on May 10. Despite comprehensive health screening measures in place, the deaths have raised concerns. Most of the deceased were elderly with underlying medical conditions. Over 1.55 lakh pilgrims have visited Kedarnath, 70,000 Yamunotri, and 63,000 Gangotri, with 45,000 visiting Badrinath Dham in just three days. Authorities are urging pilgrims to disclose any medical conditions and register on the tourism department website before undertaking the yatra. The state government is working to ensure a safe and successful pilgrimage for all.
