Bhavesh Bhinde, the owner of Ego Media Pvt Ltd, the advertising agency responsible for the now-collapsed hoarding in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area, faces a rape charge. The incident, which claimed 14 lives and injured 74 others, has already led to a culpable homicide case against Bhinde. However, it has now come to light that a rape case was registered against him in January 2024 at the Mulund Police Station. Bhinde, who has 23 previous criminal cases, unsuccessfully contested the 2009 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly polls from Mulund. Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
