India and Iran inked a landmark 10-year contract for the operation of a terminal at the strategically vital Chabahar port. This marks India's first overseas port management venture, aiming to bolster regional connectivity and trade ties with Afghanistan and beyond, bypassing Pakistan. The agreement, signed by India Ports Global Ltd and Iran's Port & Maritime Organisation, reinforces bilateral relations and trade prospects. India's involvement at Chabahar port is expected to stimulate economic development and enhance India's engagement in the region, with Chabahar positioned as a crucial hub for the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) project.
