Speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, EAM S Jaishankar hinted the US is adjusting to a multipolar world by shaping new power poles. He observed the dominance and relative power of the US is changing partly due to Iraq and Afghanistan. Jaishankar said the world has become more democratic, enabling redistribution of power, and the US is actively seeking to benefit in this new order. He added that Washington can no longer work only with allies, citing Quad as an example. Jaishankar inferred the US may not use the term 'multipolar' but is adapting to it. Ahead of meeting Secretary Blinken in Washington, he noted the long-term consequences of recent US campaigns and said the US is making adjustments as global power dynamics shift away from unilateralism.
