IMD Predicts End of Heatwave in Most of India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the heatwave will subside in most parts of the country starting Friday, except for West Rajasthan and Kerala. A heatwave alert remains in place only for these two regions. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued for other areas, indicating a low probability of significant rain. Thunderstorm activity is expected to increase due to moisture flow from the Bay of Bengal, with a possibility of strong lightning in several states, including Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam, and Meghalaya.
