The Indian Coast Guard intercepted an Iranian fishing vessel off the Kerala coast, detaining six Indian fishermen employed by an Iranian sponsor. The fishermen, hailing from Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari, alleged ill-treatment and passport confiscation by the sponsor. The crew, initially permitted for fishing off Iran's coast, escaped to India on the same boat. Coast Guard swiftly acted, boarding the vessel and conducting thorough checks for any anti-national activities. The detained vessel, along with the fishermen, was brought to Kochi for further investigation.
