A 19-year-old man, Bakshish Singh, was beaten to death by an angry crowd at a gurdwara in Punjab's Ferozepur on Saturday. He had allegedly torn pages from the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of the Sikhs. The incident occurred at Gurdwara Baba Bir Singh in Bandala village. Bakshish, who was mentally challenged and on medication, tried to flee but was caught and thrashed by locals. A police case has been filed for the alleged sacrilege, while Bakshish's father has demanded action against those who killed his son.
