A devastating forest fire in Uttarakhand's Almora district has claimed three lives and left one person with serious burns. The victims, of Nepali origin, were employed at a pine resin factory that was threatened by the blaze. This incident marks the first reported deaths in forest fires in the state, which has seen over 868 fires affecting 1,086 hectares since November. Authorities have registered 350 FIRs and arrested 60 people in connection with the fires, which are mostly believed to be man-made. An investigation into the cause of the Almora fire is underway.
