India is considering allowing Chinese electronics companies to invest in the country on a case-by-case basis. The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) has reached out to Chinese air-conditioner compressor manufacturer Shanghai Highly (Group) Co regarding its proposed investment plans. This move follows lobbying efforts by Indian companies to ease India's stringent stance on Chinese investments. Shanghai Highly, known for significant value addition in AC compressor manufacturing, has responded to inquiries from the ministry, signaling a possible revival of investment plans.
