In Manipur, a fresh outbreak of violence ensued as armed clashes broke out between village volunteers of the Meitei and Kuki communities. The exchange of fire initiated when armed men indiscriminately fired upon Koutruk village from adjoining hills in Kangpokpi district. Locally-made mortar shells were reportedly used in the confrontation. Security forces are deployed to quell the situation, as children, women, and seniors are evacuated to safety.
