In a recent meeting between Indian and French authorities, India urged France to approve the extradition of Vijay Mallya without conditions. The request was made during the 16th India-France Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism on April 15. Mallya, wanted in India for financial offenses, is believed to be in the UK. India is pursuing his extradition with countries where he has assets and extradition treaties, including France. The Indian delegation, led by K D Dewal, emphasized this request to the French delegation, led by Ambassador Olivier Caron, at the meeting.
