Union Railways and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced significant progress in India's first bullet train project, targeting its first section to open in 2026. With over 290 km of track laid and bridges built over eight rivers, work is advancing on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route. Despite challenges like complex design and pandemic delays, the project is moving forward rapidly, with the corridor featuring a 21-km tunnel, including a 7-km undersea stretch, where trains will run at speeds of 300-320 kmph.
