Canadian Sikhs Protest Against Indian Government Over Hardeep Singh Nijjar Killing

In the week since Canadian PM Justin Trudeau accused Indian agents of involvement in the murder of Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Canadian Sikhs have staged small protests outside India's diplomatic missions. About 100 protesters in Toronto burned an Indian flag, while 200 gathered at the Vancouver consulate. Under 100 protesters waved 'Khalistan' flags in Ottawa outside the Indian High Commissioner's office. Some called for the expulsion of Indian High Commissioner to Canada Sanjay Verma, who said authorities were informed of the protests and providing security. Canada has about 770,000 Sikhs, the largest Sikh population outside India.
