At the recent G20 summit, leaders from the Five Eyes intelligence network including U.S. President Joe Biden raised concerns with Indian PM Narendra Modi about Canada's claims of Indian involvement in the murder of Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Vancouver. According to the Financial Times, the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand specifically questioned Modi before Canada publicly accused Indian agents. India has rejected the allegations. The U.S. says it's in contact with India at high levels but giving no “special exemption.” The standoff has further strained Canada-India ties, putting Five Eyes nations in a tough position between the two allies.
