Air India bid farewell to its last Boeing 747, ending an era for the iconic jet. The aircraft, once named "Agra" and registered as VT-EVA, left Mumbai for the final time, sold to a foreign company. One of the two remaining 747s in good condition flew off, while another will follow soon. Two others will be dismantled for parts. De-registered last year by DGCA, it got a temporary American registration, N940AS, for its departure. Aviation historian Debasish Chakraverty noted the symbolic transformation as Air India markings were removed. The jet heads towards an uncertain future.
