Tourist arrivals to the Maldives saw a significant shift in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, as per the Ministry of Tourism's report. Indian tourist numbers dropped by 38%, from 56,208 in 2023 to 34,847 in 2024. In contrast, Chinese arrivals surged by 281%, skyrocketing from 17,691 to 67,399.
