Annual Amarnath pilgrimage registration opened with a large turnout at bank branches. The 52-day journey to the 3,880-meter-high cave shrine in south Kashmir runs from June 29 to August 19. Pilgrims can choose between the traditional 48-km Pahalgam route or the shorter 14-km Baltal route. Unlike in 2022, this year's process uses Aadhaar authentication for form generation, simplifying registration. Conducted at 540 Punjab National Bank branches nationwide, eager participants like Suman Devi from Janipur queued early. The Rehari branch was decked out to welcome pilgrims, signaling the start of the pilgrimage season.
