Abu Dhabi police have apprehended Muhammad Niyas, a 38-year-old Indian employee of the LuLu Group, for purportedly embezzling ₹1.5 crore from the company. Niyas, a native of Kannur district in Kerala, worked as a cash office-in-charge at LuLu Hypermarket in Khalidiyah Mall, Abu Dhabi, for 15 years. The robbery was discovered after Niyas failed to report for duty on March 25 and subsequent attempts to contact him were unsuccessful. Following an investigation, the police swiftly arrested Niyas, with the commercial institution expressing gratitude for the prompt response. Further legal actions are pending as the investigation progresses.
