This comes after the Maldivian government, led by Mohamed Muizzu, formally requested India's troop withdrawal. Despite tensions, both countries agreed on solutions to enable continued operation of Indian aviation platforms for humanitarian services. Indian troops, along with maritime patrol aircraft and helicopters, were stationed in the Maldives. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar expressed confidence in resolving the issue diplomatically, emphasizing the beneficial role of Indian personnel in the Maldives.
