India's Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) has approved the development of the indigenous fifth-generation stealth fighter, the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). The project, estimated at over Rs 15,000 crore, will see the production of five AMCA prototypes and procurement of 34 Dhruv helicopters. The AMCA, designed by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) of DRDO, aims to achieve supersonic cruise speeds and will feature advanced stealth features. The first prototype is projected to roll out in four years, with induction into the Indian Air Force (IAF) planned after 2035, enhancing India's defense capabilities.
