India commissioned INS Jatayu, a new naval base in Minicoy, Lakshadweep islands, enhancing its military presence in the Indian Ocean. Navy Chief Admiral R. Hari Kumar emphasized the base's significance for maritime security and Indo-Pacific strategic posture. INS Jatayu features an airfield and jetty, contributing to operational capabilities.
