Offering condolences to Ghosh's family and friends, the consulate has communicated its strong stance to the St Louis police. This response comes after television actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee highlighted the incident, urging Indian authorities to intervene. Ghosh, a Kolkata native pursuing a PhD in the US, was allegedly shot dead while taking an evening walk. This adds to a series of reported Indian deaths in the US in early 2024.
