The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) responded to media reports of Indians within the Russian Army seeking discharge, emphasizing that every case has been taken up with Russian authorities. The MEA stated that the early discharge of Indians is a top priority, with several individuals already released. Media had previously highlighted Indians, employed as security helpers, allegedly engaging in conflict along Russia's border with Ukraine. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal urged caution and advised Indian nationals to avoid the conflict zone. AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi appealed to the MEA to facilitate the return of these individuals.
