Indian Navy Collaborates with Seychelles and Sri Lanka, Rescues Hijacked Fishing Vessel

Responding to the hijacking of the Sri Lankan fishing vessel LORENZO PUTHA 04, the Indian Navy, Seychelles Defence Forces, and Sri Lanka Navy teamed up for a successful rescue mission. The vessel, hijacked by three pirates east of Mogadishu, Somalia, was intercepted by Seychelles Coast Guard on January 29. Coordinated efforts between INS Sharda and HALE Sea Guardian, along with international liaison officers' information sharing, led to the pirates surrendering. All six crew members are safe, and the hijacked vessel is under escort to Mahe, Seychelles.
