Vivek Saini, an MBA student in Georgia, was fatally attacked in a US convenience store by a homeless man he had previously helped. On January 16, Saini refused to give the man free food, leading to a brutal assault captured on CCTV. The 25-year-old was struck nearly 50 times with a hammer. India strongly condemned the heinous incident, and the Consulate General in Atlanta provided assistance to Saini's family for repatriation.
