Gujarat Fliers on 'Donkey Flight' Agreed to Pay ₹60 Lakh for Entry into the US

Over 60 people from Gujarat, aboard the Nicaragua-bound plane grounded in France over suspected human trafficking, planned to pay ₹60-80 lakh to immigration agents for illegal entry into the US. These passengers, questioned by Gujarat CID, admitted to the agreement. Agents assured passage from Nicaragua to the US-Mexico border. CID seeks CBI's help to investigate agent details. The chartered flight's detention in France triggered a probe into suspected trafficking. Nicaragua is sought after for asylum seekers bound for the US. In 2023, 96,917 Indians attempted illegal US entry, with 41,770 via the Mexican border.
