HBO has unveiled key cast members for its upcoming Harry Potter TV series. John Lithgow will portray Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer takes on Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu is cast as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost will play Rubeus Hagrid. Additional roles include Luke Thallon as Professor Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch. Casting for Harry, Hermione, and Ron is ongoing, with over 32,000 children auditioning following a UK and Ireland casting call. Filming is set to begin in summer 2025, aiming for a 2026 release.
