Centre Clears NIA Trial of 26/11 Accused Tahawwur Rana in Delhi After U.S. Extradition Approval for Aiding Mumbai Attacks

The Indian government has granted approval to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to conduct the trial of Tahawwur Rana in Delhi for his alleged involvement in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. Rana, a Pakistani-origin Canadian businessman currently in U.S. custody, is accused of aiding David Headley in planning the attacks that killed 166 people. Following U.S. court clearance for extradition, Indian authorities are preparing legal proceedings under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
