A 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar’s southern coast on Wednesday, days after a devastating 7.7 magnitude quake killed 3,003 people and injured over 4,500. The earlier disaster caused widespread destruction, toppling buildings and collapsing bridges, worsening the humanitarian crisis. Over 3 million people were already displaced before the quake, with nearly 20 million in need of aid, the UN reported. Myanmar’s military announced a temporary ceasefire to support relief efforts. Rescue operations continue amid aftershocks, as fears grow of further devastation in the crisis-hit nation. (PC: IndiaToday)
