A 5.1 magnitude aftershock struck near Mandalay, Myanmar, on Sunday, following Friday’s devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake. The initial quake caused widespread destruction, collapsing buildings and infrastructure, including Mandalay’s airport. The death toll has surpassed 1,600, with over 3,400 people missing. Emergency teams have begun arriving in the hardest-hit areas, but their efforts are hampered by damaged roads, collapsed bridges, poor communication, and ongoing civil conflict.
