Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has demanded that stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra be granted special protection, similar to the security given to actress Kangana Ranaut in 2020. The demand follows multiple FIRs filed by Mumbai Police against Kamra for allegedly making defamatory remarks about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during his show, Naya Bharat. Raut emphasized that Kamra, as an artist, deserves fair legal treatment. Meanwhile, the comedian has been summoned for questioning, but the Madras High Court has granted him interim anticipatory bail until April 7, shielding him from immediate arrest.
