On March 28, 2025, Myanmar was struck by six powerful earthquakes. The first, a massive 7.7-magnitude quake, hit near Mandalay at a depth of 10 km. Just 12 minutes later, a second 6.4-magnitude aftershock followed, causing further destruction. Buildings, roads, and bridges collapsed, with tremors felt as far as Thailand, China, and Bangladesh. In Bangkok, an under-construction skyscraper collapsed, adding to the casualties. Myanmar has reported over 100 deaths and 300 injuries, prompting the government to declare a state of emergency in six regions while seeking international aid for rescue efforts.
