Jammu and Kashmir's Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat, armed with an AK-47, personally led combing operations in Kathua's dense forests. This unprecedented move followed reports of militants infiltrating Saniyal village in the Hiranagar sector. After local residents alerted authorities, a brief exchange of fire occurred on Sunday evening. Senior officers, including IGP Bhim Sen Tuti and DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma, joined the search for the estimated five to six militants believed to be hiding nearby. The International Border in Kathua has become a significant infiltration route for militants entering from Pakistan. (PC: The Legitimate News & The Indian Express)
