Amit Gupta, Tech Mahindra's Country Head in Doha and a resident of Vadodara, Gujarat, has been detained by Qatari authorities since January 1, 2025, on allegations of data theft. His family, asserting his innocence, has sought intervention from the Prime Minister’s Office and approached Tech Mahindra's chairman, Anand Mahindra, for assistance. During a month-long visit to Qatar, they were permitted a single half-hour meeting with Gupta, during which his mother reported he had been deprived of food and water for 48 hours and remains confined.
