The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a closure report in the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found hanging at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020. The CBI submitted its findings to a special court in Mumbai, which will now decide whether to accept the report or order further investigation. Initially, the Mumbai Police's report indicated suicide, with no evidence of forced entry and the absence of a suicide note. Following allegations from Rajput's family against Rhea Chakraborty and others, the case was transferred to the CBI. Forensic specialists at AIIMS later dismissed claims of poisoning and strangulation.
