NASA astronaut Sunita Williams safely returned to Earth after 286 days in space, sparking grand celebrations in her ancestral village, Jhulasan, Gujarat. Residents gathered at a temple, bursting firecrackers, dancing, and chanting 'Har Har Mahadev' as her SpaceX capsule splashed down off Florida. The village had been praying for her safe return, lighting an Akhand Jyot and performing a yagna. A grand procession from the village school to the temple is planned in her honor. Williams, who holds the record for the most spacewalking hours by a female astronaut, is expected to be invited back to Jhulasan soon.
