Ranjani Srinivasan, a 37-year-old Indian PhD student at Columbia University, self-deported after the US revoked their visa over alleged support for Hamas. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem labeled Srinivasan a "terrorist sympathizer." Srinivasan, now in Canada, called the ordeal a "dystopian nightmare," saying they only liked or shared posts on Gaza. Fearing arrest, they left the US abruptly.
