Pakistani security forces conducted raids on Saturday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Mohmand and Dera Ismail Khan districts, targeting Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) hideouts. The operations resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and nine militants. Concurrently, insurgents ambushed security forces in the Kurram district; however, casualties from this attack remain unconfirmed. The Kurram region has experienced prolonged sectarian violence between Sunni and Shia communities, leading to significant fatalities and humanitarian issues, including shortages of essential supplies. Additionally, a bomb detonated outside a mosque in Peshawar, killing a religious leader. The TTP, distinct yet allied with Afghanistan's Taliban, has intensified attacks in Pakistan since the Afghan Taliban's 2021 resurgence.
