On March 13, 2025, American Airlines Flight 1006, a Boeing 737-800 en route from Colorado Springs to Dallas-Fort Worth, was diverted to Denver International Airport after the crew reported engine vibrations. Upon landing at approximately 5:15 p.m., the aircraft's engine caught fire while taxiing to the gate, prompting an emergency evacuation. All 172 passengers and six crew members evacuated safely using emergency slides, with some passengers seen standing on the wing amidst visible smoke. Twelve individuals sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospitals for evaluation. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the engine fire.
