On March 11, 2025, separatist militants from the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) hijacked the Jaffar Express in Pakistan's Balochistan province. The train, carrying approximately 400 passengers from Quetta to Peshawar, came under heavy fire, resulting in injuries to the train driver. The BLA claimed responsibility, stating they had taken control of the train, killing six military personnel and holding over 100 passengers hostage.
