Trump, who has paused all military aid to Ukraine, was set to meet Zelensky at the White House. However, the meeting turned into a heated argument, and Zelensky walked out. Trump later claimed Zelensky "disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office." The minerals deal was meant to secure American access to Ukraine’s resources. Zelensky has said Ukraine is open to talks, but tensions remain high.
