Serbian Students Lead Anti-Corruption Rally Amid Growing Discontent

Tens of thousands of Serbian students gathered in Nis on Saturday for an 18-hour anti-corruption rally, demanding justice and reforms following the November 2024 collapse of a train station canopy that killed 15 people. The protests, which have been ongoing since the tragedy, criticize the government's corruption and its handling of public safety. Students emphasize the need for institutions that serve citizens' interests, not political agendas. While President Aleksandar Vucic dismissed the protests, the movement continues to gain momentum, with the next major demonstration scheduled in Belgrade on March 15.
