President Droupadi Murmu visited the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, India, on Monday and took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. She later offered prayers at the Akshayavat and Bade Hanuman Temple, accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Over 420 million devotees have taken the holy dip since the event began on January 13, 2025. The massive turnout led to severe traffic jams, with a congestion stretch of 200-300 km stranding pilgrims. The grand religious gathering will conclude on Mahashivratri, February 26.
